MAKE UP FOR A CLOWN

If you are thinking of dressing up as a clown for your next costume party, you have to take into account some advice to care for your skin and try to choose the best face paint.

There are two different types of make-up. One is water based make-up and the other one is oil based make-up. Depending on which type of skin you have, it will be better for you one or the other. Apart from skin type, it may be better to use oil based make-up as the water based make-up will run off your face if you sweat a little bit.

Steps to follow when applying make-up:

  •  Spread a protective cream over your face
  •  Start step by step, firstly apply the white base over your your face.
  •  Adding colour and design. This is where your imagination and your preferences start. Crayons are really useful to draw the outline of the areas and then spread colours into the pictures.
  •  If you are going to be a happy and wonderful clown use colours like red, pink and yellow. If you are going to be a sad clown think of browns, blues, blacks and greys
  • The final step. Don’t forget that you have to remove all of your make-up at the end of the day. Cooking oil is very useful in these cases, and it works really well.

Follow more advice here, to achieve a great character.

Apart from the costume and make-up you need to consider some accessories as well:

  •  Colourful wig. You can also buy hair colour and just spray it on.
  •  A very big hat.
  •  Pick out your shoes, bigger than your real feet.
  • White gloves
  • Colourful bow-tie

Everything else is not as important, but you can add whatever you want to achieve a great character.
